The diversity of companies and entrepreneurs at Flexizone creates a dynamic working environment where tenants share knowledge and strengthen each other’s business. We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our dynamic team at Flexizone. We are a rapidly growing business and need someone local to oversee all day to day financial management of our property portfolio. 

The role  

The financial controller reports to the CFO & Board of Directors( based in the UK). The main responsibility is to manage all aspects of accounts administration for the portfolio by liaising with the outsourced Property Manager and in particular to oversee financial control of any site works (Cap Ex). Preparing reports for the management team, preparing property accounts for the shareholders. The Financial controller liaises regularly with site staff, tenants, contractors & other professional advisors.

Key responsibilities;

  • Capital Expenditure: to obtain authorization for Expenditure Requests (issuing Purchase Orders/ accounts codes etc.) and oversee the process once authorized
  • Property Accounts: Responsible for overseeing all financial duties of the outsourced Property Manager including authorizing payment runs, invoicing, maintaining sales & purchase ledger balance
  • Database Management: Responsible for ensuring all lease & tenant details are correctly recorded and reconciled between the in-house CRM (Salesforce) and the PMS software (various ) used by the outsourced property management company
  • Review: To liaise with Property Management Company to ensure all break dates and renewals are actioned on a timely basis
  • Credit Control: To liaise with property management company and Sales Managers to ensure all debts are collected, by providing accurate, current ledger reports & to provide support when requested
  • Compliance: To liaise with Corporate Service Providers to ensure all legal conditions of trade are complied with, including VAT returns and external liabilities;
  • Reports: To assist in preparing management accounts and other reports for internal and external reporting
  • Other: As a member of the Management Team, to represent and promote the company at all times to the highest professional standards and to undertake any other duties as might reasonably be required of a post holder of this level

Job requirements;

  • 5+ years accounts experience, preferably in the real estate industry
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent
  • Minimum Part Qualified in Accounts or equivalent
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Experience in general accounting principles and be able to complete accounts to Trial Balance and the preparation of Year End Accounts
  • Preferably experience in the communication of financial results, in the form of financial and/or business reports
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (written & spoken)
  • Legally permitted to work in the NL

The position is office based, The Hague/ Rotterdam and requires regularly visits to all sites
